I have had many questions from people about Buster wearing a necklace. No, it isn't to be cool (even though he is cute in it), it has a purpose
Here is a description from the website I purchased mine from:
Amber teething necklace facts: A natural analgesic, amber will help calm a baby without resorting to drugs. Amber is a fossilized resin, not a stone. It is therefore warm to the touch, as well as very comfortable and light to wear. Wearing Baltic amber necklaces on the skin can have a soothing and calming effect on teething babies and toddlers. Amber's anti-inflammatory and therapeutic properties are also recognized by allopathic medicine. In Austria, Switzerland and Germany, you will find amber teething necklaces sold in local pharmacies. Are amber teething necklaces safe? As a safety feature there is a knot before and after each bead, so that even in the extremely unlikely event of the string being torn, no beads are lost and there is no risk of choking. Amber teething necklaces are secured with a traditional screw clasp, not a hook and ring!
The necklace is to be worn, not chewed.
This little girl (being a "help" to her brother) had a terrible time teething. She completely changed every time she teethed. I had heard about these necklaces before she was born, but never got one. I figured this time that it couldn't hurt. He has been wearing it for about 3 months, so we will see how he does. The hard part is if he does well teething I won't know for sure if it is the necklace, since he has always worn it. I do have friends who swear by them though. You can find them on many websites and even etsy. I got mine HERE because I had a coupon for the website.
Doesn't that face look guilty :)
